Sasanian Empire. Shahpur (Sabuhr) I the Great (AD 240-272). AR drachm (4.29g/ 23mm). Mint I (“Ctesiphon”). Phase 1b, ca. AD 244-252/3. Bust of Shahpur right, wearing diadem and mural crown with ear flaps and korymbos / Fire altar flanked by two attendants standing facing, turned outward, both wearing mural crowns without diadems; mint mark on shaft of altar. Sunrise 733 var. (pellets flanking diadem). Göbl type I/1. Very fine and toned.
