Sasanian Empire. Shapur I (A.D. 241-272). AR Obol (0.7 g/ 13mm). Mint I (“Ctesiphon”), phase 1b, ca. AD 244-252/3. Bust of Shapur I right, wearing diadem and mural crown with korymbos. Reverse: Fire altar; flanked by two attendants wearing mural crowns. NS Type Iic/1a, Style A, Group D and pl. 22, 20-5. Rare. Well centered and fully struck. Lightly toned. Very Fine, toned.
