Saffarid

The Saffarid Dynasty was one of the first independent Persian Muslim dynasties, ruling parts of Iran, Afghanistan, and Central Asia from 861 to 1003 AD. Founded by Ya’qub ibn al-Layth al-Saffar, the dynasty played a key role in the revival of Persian power after the Arab conquest. Saffarid coins, struck in silver and copper at mints across eastern Iran and Afghanistan, are highly valued for their historical significance and their connection to the early Islamic and Persian worlds.
