Lot 358:
Group of Three Ancient Stone Belt Slides / Fittings, c. 1st Millennium BC
Description
A lot of three carved stone fittings, each of rectangular form with side notches for attachment. One piece is decorated with parallel incised grooves, another with twin rosette motifs in geometric style, and the third remains plain with smoothed surfaces. These fittings may have served as belt slides, garment ornaments, or decorative inlays. Such items are commonly found across the Near East and Central Asia and reflect both utilitarian and decorative functions in antiquity.
